Condition is a card type. It only appears in Villain decks, and is denoted with a pink font. Conditions cannot be played during your own turn; they must be played during other player's turns, when their "condition" is met. Like Effects, they are discarded immediately when played. Conditions are the only cards in Villain decks without a cost.
Prior to Despicable Plots, all Villains had four Conditions in their Villain deck: two copies each of two different cards. Most Villains since have broken this convention in their own way.
Official Rules[]
- They are not played by performing a Play a Card action.
- If you have a Condition in your hand and the requirement on the card is met during an opponent’s turn, you may immediately play the card, do what it says, and then discard it face up to your discard pile.
- After a Condition is played, the opponent’s turn continues.
- Do not draw a new card. You must wait until the end of your turn to draw back to four cards.
Clarifications[]
- You may only play a Condition card during an opponent’s turn who meets the condition.
- When a Condition is played and it would interrupt the active player's action, that action finishes before the Condition's Ability is resolved.
- If multiple Conditions are played at the same time, they resolve in clockwise order from the current active player.
- This includes if Conditions have different triggers, with different play timing, but end up resolving at the same time. For example, if Jafar plays Hypnotize as his fourth action in a turn, the Hero defeat will trigger Syndrome's Bio Probe, which does not resolve yet; once Hypnotize is fully resolved, Gaston's Beautiful as Me is triggered, and the two Conditions are then resolved in turn order.
- If a Condition's Ability does not say "you may" or "up to", it can only be played if the player can do everything the card says to do.
- For example, Cunning cannot be played if Captain Hook does not have an Ally in hand to play, even if an opponent has an Ally with 4 or more Strength during their turn.
