Deception is a Condition in Jafar's Villain deck.
Clarifications[]
- In order to play this card you take into account Villain and Fate Items.
- This does not perform a Fate action, and Abilities that trigger off of Fate actions (such as Dragon Form or Injustice) do not trigger when this card is played.
- This card can be used to target players even if they have the token that prevents them from being targeted by Fate actions.
Strategy[]
This is one of the more powerful Conditions in the game, and is one of Jafar's main catch-up tools, allowing him to slow down the game so he can get to his Items in time. It is fairly easy to activate as well, with most Villains having at least two Items in their Realm at some point - Ursula, Syndrome, and Ratigan in particular. Many also have items in their Fate decks as well, making those more of a hinderance than normal and high priority for Jafar. This card is quite dependent on your opponents, as every Villain's Items having varying importance, but against the right opponents, it can be infuriatingly effective (particularly if you can also scoop this back up with Manipulation).
Of your possible opponents:
- Captain Hook/Ratigan - very likely to have many Items in play.
- Horned King/Lady Tremaine/Pete/Syndrome/Ursula - must play or have at least two Items to win.
- Cruella De Vil/Maleficent/Dr. Facilier/Evil Queen/Hades/Mother Gothel/Prince John- have two or more Items that make winning much easier
- King Candy/Queen of Hearts/Shere Khan has two or more Items, but can go without them, or refrain from playing two or more.
- Scar - Only has Items in his Fate deck.
- Gaston - Has two Items in his Villain deck, but will almost never play them.
- Lotso/Madam Mim/Oogie Boogie/Yzma - Have only one or less Items in their Villain and Fate Deck.
