Prior to The Black Cauldron being claimed, do not choose Hen Wen, as Horned King just needs to kill her to get his evil crockery. After it's claimed, Hen Wen is great, as she can cause hand clog if Horned King only has Effects in hand, as well as preventing Power gain, Cauldron flipping, and Hero defeats. The best target for Dyrnwyn.
