Strategy

For

Normally, when a hero takes the Talisman, you have to move/play an Ally to the hero's location and Vanquish them at the Voodoo Emporium; in some cases this will use up your card play and force you to wait two turns to leave and re-enter Voodoo Emporium to play The Cards Will Tell. However, if Lawrence is played before hand, you can always move him to any hero that steals the talisman and vanquish them, conserving your play a card action and allowing you to win with The Cards Will Tell. That's why it is always a good strategy to play him down early on so he's ready to take back the talisman from other heroes.

Against

Lawrence keeps Dr. Facilier well defended and makes it difficult to steal the talisman. If Lawrence is in the position to vanquish a hero holding the talisman, that hero can be moved to safety using Naveen. If you suspect that Dr. Facilier has The Cards Will Tell and has Lawrence in a position to take back the talisman, you should try to remove with The Evening Star. Otherwise, it might be better to play the evening star on Masked Spirits, as you can simply draw another card to steal the talisman on a future turn. Lastly, if Lawrence is in Dr. Facilier's realm, playing Eudora is a good option to steal the talisman, as she can draw another hero to re-steal it after Lawrence takes it back.
