Obsession is a Condition in Captain Hook's Villain deck. It is one way he has to manipulate his Fate deck in order to bring out Peter Pan.
Strategy[]
The effect of Obsession is the most potent of Captain Hook's Fate deck manipulators, but it is not the easiest Condition to trigger. Unless an opponent currently has a Hero of the right Strength in their Realm, it's probably best to discard this in favor of a Worthy Opponent or Give Them a Scare.
Of your possible opponents:
- Jafar/Madam Mim/Scar/Ursula - have a strong enough Hero that they must defeat, but doing so doesn't immediately win them the game
- Evil Queen/Pete/Ratigan/Shere Khan - have a strong enough Hero that prevents them from winning, but won't necessarily be played (or must have their Strength increased)
- Cruella De Vil/Gaston/King Candy/Mother Gothel/Queen of Hearts/Prince John - have a strong, obnoxious Hero that doesn't need to be defeated, but probably will be
- Dr. Facilier/Hades/Maleficent/Syndrome - have a strong, obnoxious Hero, but their Strength can be reduced
- Horned King/Lady Tremaine/Lotso/Yzma - can completely ignore strong enough Heroes
- Oogie Boogie - has one strong enough Hero that he must defeat (although his strength can be reduced), but doing so will win him the game.
