Taran is a Hero in Horned King's Fate deck.

The best thing that can be said for Taran is that at least he doesn't actively help Horned King by being Vanquished like Gurgi. His Ability could get him to quite high Strength, if Horned King weren't so good at clearing out Heroes, and the Cauldron Born are so strong that it doesn't really matter. And as he doesn't have any meaningful passive Ability aside from being a pile of stats, he's a very low priority target for removal, meaning he'll usually be his basic 2 Strength when he's eventually Vanquished anyway.
